Spring Sew North 2018
We have been asked to add a spectator only ticket – for those who don’t really want to sew at all, for this special occasion only we will make that available. For just €25.00 join in the fun, sit back and enjoy the day – Saturday OR Sunday. No fabrics, machines or equipment required, just a great demonstration of what this hobby is all about, and maybe the inspiration to make a start on a quilt journey of your own
This is a new format, so places are limited, book your space now to be sure!
1.The Solo – a small project – the star block framed to make a pair of cushion fronts.
Needs one 1/8th + one ¼ + one ½ + 1 metre of fabric!
2.The Quartet – A mini quilt made up of the small blocks that feature in the main quilt, but made using just four fat quarters.
Needs the four fat quarters plus a metre of light / background fabric.
3.The Chorus – A special square-in-a-square quilt that demonstrates the 4-part harmony theory. This can be made to any size using sets of four fat quarters – one set or many depending on the size of quilt that you wish to make.
Needs as many sets of four fat quarters as you wish to use.
4.The Opera – the big production. For those who would like to make a medallion style quilt
of their own, a chance to see how all the major elements get cut and stitched, and guidance on how to use the fabrics from your own stash.
(A full materials list for this quilt will be supplied to those booking for this option so you can select from your own stash or gather the required fabrics in time for the class.)
All my examples will appear over the coming weeks – I just wanted to give everyone a peek into the workings of my brain for now! On the days of the workshops we will all be working together, with several tutors to go around, ensuring lots of one-to-one tuition and that we learn as much from seeing the work being done at other tables as we do from the lesson itself.
Places for one-day or two-day tickets are available now to book, with a €10.00 discount that will apply for those booking before December 20th.
